If your appliances are over 10 years old replacing them may actually save you big money. Over the last 10 years, appliances have become significantly more efficient. In many cases, a new appliance will use 50%-75% less electricity or natural gas than they did 10 years ago.  Make sure you look for the "ENERGY STAR" label.   In some cases, you may save enough money that your appliance almost pays for its self!
